Bane/Deathstroke: A Batman supervillain film in development!

Friends of poetry, good evening! The Hollywood Reporter tells us this evening that a film bringing together Bane and Deathstroke is currently in development at DC Studios. Even a screenwriter has already been hired in the person of Matthew Orton (Captain America : Brave New World, Moon Knight). Supersteroids vs. super-swords, this can make sparks… and meet with a certain circumspection, to the extent that we are talking about a film about Batman’s enemies without Batman, whereas the introduction of the latter in The Brave and the Bold is still only a distant project.

Incidentally, we will recall that Deathstroke was to be the big bad guy of the film The BatmanBen Affleck period. And that a Slade Wilson spin-off was briefly in development under the aegis of Gareth Evans (Gangs of London, The Raid). This therefore marks the desire of the nascent DCU to explore the super-villainous sphere… at a time when Sony’s Spider-Man Universe seems to be at a standstill and on the eve of the probable dropout of Joker: Folie à deux. In any case, there must be a good idea behind this team-up, because it really comes out of nowhere. And let it be said, the fan arts with Dave Bautista and Joe Manganiello are going to rain in the next few hours!
