TF1+ can count on the French group’s various television channels to supply its catalog with films, series and other anime, which, as a reminder, is available free of charge (with advertisements) with very rare exceptions. The SVOD service has new releases regularly, some of which only last for a few days (7 days in general). This is the case of this action film directed by Antoine Fuqua – the filmmaker behind The Equalizer trilogy with Denzel Washington – which was a surprise success at the cinema in the early 2010s.

The Fall of the President is an adrenaline-filled feature film released in 2023 depicting the attack on the White House by terrorists with Gerard Butler (300), Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Morgan Freeman (the trilogy of the Dark Knight) in the main roles. Olympus Has Fallen from its original title was such a success at the box office – 170 million US dollars for a budget of 70 million – that several sequels were set in motion: two films (Angel Has Fallen and London Has Fallen) and a series (Paris Has Fallen). Little anecdote. Barely 3 months later, a similar project directed by Roland Emmerich with Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx in the lead took cinemas by storm. White House Down was, unsurprisingly, a failure in theaters (205 million US$ in revenue for 150 million in budget)

The saga continues in series on Canal+

After three films screened in cinemas between 2013 and 2019, the saga “Has Fallen” or “The Fall” in French changes media to tackle another European capital following the aborted one on London in London Has Fallen. As of 2019, there is talk of a serial adaptation which will ultimately only see the light of day 5 years later. Paris Has Fallen is a StudioCanal production entrusted to Tewfik Jallab following the departure of French director and actor Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine, Babylon AD) due to creative differences. Broadcast at the end of September, the series was well received by the press (3.5/5 on AlloCiné), but a little less so by spectators (3.1/5 on AlloCiné).
