Big Monsters or Real Paranoia? The Mysterious Trailer for the Horror Series Teacup

The trailer for Teacupthe horror series produced by James Wan (Insidious, Conjuring), has just arrived. And it makes you want it.

In October, it starts to get cold and dark. The most gloomy season of the year sets in. Yet, horror fans secretly rejoice. Halloween is just around the corner and it is, as always, a great opportunity to celebrate terrors of the night. Every year, we look for something new to get our teeth into for a little dose of anxiety, whether it’s a film, a game, a series…

And here is a first frankly promising track for 2024. The series Teacup coming this October (in the US at least, on Peacock) and its plot seems tailor-made to fulfill the thrill mission. The first trailer is now available.

A Teacup of Fear

Adapted from book Stinger by Robert McCammonpublished in 1988, the series takes place in a small, isolated town where the inhabitants must unite in the face of a terrifying threat. Those who have read the book know what it is about, but the promo plays the mystery card, notably with a masked individual who traces a safety limit that must not be crossed at all costsand announces to the villagers that they should not trust anyone.

Teacup is produced by the company James Wan’s Atomic Monster, which specializes in horror in all its forms (Saw, Conjuring, Insidious, Malignantbut also the Amazon series Remember… last summer). And this new project smells rather good.

While the trailer is not original in form (with a predictable break between peaceful country life and hell suddenly descending on the protagonists), it is nonetheless very intriguing. It notably manages to cultivate its mystery, by left the fantastic off-screen. The nightmare climate is definitely there.
