After the fiasco of the films, the video game arrives with a trailer

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for the video game adaptation of its saga Rebel Moon.

Every time you think you’re done with the spoiled soup Rebel Moon on Netflix, we are seriously mistaken. The announcement of the extended versions for Zack Snyder’s films had already plunged us into a state close to catatonia, and our Antoine suffered a thousand deaths to write the review of the big scam Rebel Moon Director’s Cut. Naive as we are, we thought the file Rebel Moon closed. A big mistake, because here comes the video game adaptation of Zack Snyder’s diptych, entitled A Blood Line : Rebel Moon.

After all, why couldn’t a bad movie make a good video game? Blood Line will be presented as a top-down action-RPG, playable in co-op with up to four players. Players will embody rebels who will fight to retake their planet, which has fallen under the control of the Mother World. Netflix has released the first trailer for A Blood Line : Rebel Moon.

Fly me to the Rebel Moon

American studio Super Evil Megacorp was tasked with developing Rebel Moon: Blood LineThe studio is best known for Vainglorya mobile game that had its moment of glory on the e-sports scene in 2014. Recently, Super Evil has made Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splinter’s Destinya cooperative roguelite, playable by up to four players simultaneously. Any resemblance to Blood Line is therefore not fortuitous.

In an official press release, Samuel Hart, Product Manager at Super Evil Megacorp, presented Blood Line as being a game “high-end for mobile”and that he was “truly designed for mobile devices, with top-notch touch controls, gamepad support, and console-quality graphics”He specified that the title would offer a story-driven campaign, based on a system of missions to be completed, all exploiting “the rich science fiction universe of Rebel Moon”.

The promise of big guns

The trailer for Blood Line doesn’t show much in terms of gameplay, classes to choose from or even mission diversity. After a short CGI cutscene, the gameplay sequences follow one after the other, and we can guess that Super Evil Megacorp has respected its recipe applied to TMNT: Splinter’s Destiny for its next baby ready to hit Netflix’s video game platform.

Without a doubt, this Blood Line is one of the major steps in the transmedia development that Netflix has been talking about for several months. The goal is to establish its strong licenses not only on subscribers’ screens, but also in the field of video games. A video game Squid Game is currently in the works, and is expected to be released alongside season 2 of the series.

Super Evil Megacorp developers have announced that the Blood Line will benefit from an open beta testing phase soon, and that Rebel Moon: Blood Line will be available to all Netflix subscribers sometime in 2025.
