Peter Parker could cross paths with some Marvel superheroes again in Spider-Man 4and some candidates are already standing out.
While the release of his last solo opus dates back to the mega-crossover Spider-Man: No Way Home In December 2021, Tom Holland will soon return to business as Peter Parker. In addition to the next two films Avengersof which he should be one of the headliners, Spider-Man 4 seems to be taking shape after finding its director.
Enough to start speculating about the future of the franchise in the MCU, with this Spider-Man 4 which will be a direct continuation of the Marvel’s (and Sony’s) biggest hit since Avengers: Endgame. And, if we follow the logic of the first trilogy, this fourth film could once again offer a major ally to the Weaver. At first glance, not necessarily a good idea after No Way Homebut Some superheroes might still be intriguing to see in this Spider-Man 4.
1. Daredevil
This is obviously and without much surprise the first candidate that stands out when we talk about a crossover with the Weaver. Already because Both characters have a very developed history in the comics, but also because their recent stakes in the MCU are getting closer. When Peter Parker enters a new era, deprived of all his loved ones, Matt Murdock also begins a new pageas we should see in the series Daredevil: Born Again (the character’s big return on Disney+, after the seasons on Netflix).
This team-up could thus link the two Marvel projects, in particular by building their shared history around the rise of Wilson Fiskaka Kingpin, who is running for mayor of New York.
The underworld baron could thus launch an anti-superhero crusade, and justify this very tempting alliance on paper. Especially since Peter has already met this devil of a lawyer in… Spider-Man: No Way Home. Probably not the last meeting between the two vigilantes in the MCU.
2. Shang-Chi
And if the choice of Destin Daniel Cretton to direct Spider-Man 4 allowed him to finally find Shang-Chiseveral years after the film released in 2021?
A breath of fresh air for the MCU at the time, the superhero has not been seen since (and that’s a shame). But, now in possession of the Ten Rings and an ally of the Avengershe might well cross paths with Peter.
Especially since in the comics, Shang-Chi teaches his sidekick a new martial art when he loses his spider-sense. What if Spider-Man needed the famous “Kung Fu Master” in this new adventure, who would have to push him even further?
Of the ultra spectacular action scenes putting the two superheroes together as a duo, that would be something to satisfy us. Especially since we can easily imagine Tom Holland giving the reply to Simu Liu in the MCU.
3. Fantastic Four
Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, it’s a very long family story on paper. But in cinema, stuck by the complex situation of their adaptation rights, they have never met yet. The MCU will most likely remedy that.
What if it was in Spider-Man 4 ? We know that The Fantastic Four arrives in theaters in July 2025, before making their return in Avengers: Doomsdaya year later.
And if this fourth opus with Tom Holland comes out after Avengers, The Weaver Could Meet Marvel’s First Family as part of the famous Battleworld, the “patchwork” world created by Doctor Doom – the next big villain of the MCU, where he will be played by Robert Downey Jr.
After losing his family in No Way HomePeter Parker could find a new clan, and why not? take on the spiritual role that Tony Stark embodied. In any case, we would not be surprised if this highly anticipated meeting took place within Spider-Man 4allowing Peter to join the famous Future Foundation.
Other Marvel characters could obviously accompany Spider-Man in the film, if only additions wanted by Sony, like a certain Venom (or why not Black Cat). Any crossover will probably be conditioned by the multiversal (or not) nature of the filmwhich is expected to begin filming in early 2025.
