It was already a subject of discussion last night in the press box: perhaps Anderlecht should take Prince Adu to Belgium, so that something positive comes out of this trip to the Czech Republic. The striker with a modest CV has stood out.
Anderlecht had a difficult evening in Plzen. Striker Prince Adu, in particular, caused big problems for the Brussels defense. Leander Dendoncker also risks having nightmares.
After the match, David Hubert had nothing but praise for the young 21-year-old center forward. “He may not be tall, but he is incredibly strong in duels, fast, and has excellent technique,” said RSCA’s T1. These qualities made Adu, scorer of the second Czech goal, a constant threat to Anderlecht’s defenders.
Plzen coach Miroslav Koubek also praised his striker. “Prince only arrived here last summer and had to return to Ghana in October due to a visa issue, which caused him to return in poor physical condition.”
-I hope he goes to a bigger club than Anderlecht.”
“We gradually got him back into shape, he is now showing what he is capable of. He is an excellent striker who still has a lot of room for improvement.”
When asked for his opinion on a possible transfer of Adu to Anderlecht, who could be tempted by the recruitment of a new striker, Koubek’s answer was clear. “I hope Prince goes to a club more posh than Anderlecht. Even bigger, because Anderlecht is certainly not a small club.”
With a market value of just €2.5 million on Transfermarkt, Adu appears to be an affordable option for many European clubs. However, its future, at least until the end of the season, seems to be written in Plzen.
