The traditional press conference which precedes the opening ceremony of the Gérardmer festival took place this Thursday at the Grand Hôtel in the presence of the event's partners and elected officials François Vannson, Sylvie D'Alguerre, Anne Chwaliszewski and Thomas Gion, without forget Aude Hesbert, director of Hopscotch (formerly Public Système Cinéma).
But as mistress of ceremonies, we especially found Anne Villemin, new president of the festival association who recently succeeded Pierre Sachot, also at his side and now honorary president. There was therefore emotion in the air on the eve of this 32nd edition which will offer 44 feature films including 9 in competition as well as 8 short films to an audience made up of faithful who will come in force, that's a certainty, because the places have sold out like hot cakes! The celebration promises to be beautiful, because it was recalled that, in the word festival, there is the word celebration, we must not forget it.
This edition is promising and will once again illustrate the Vosges hospitality represented among others by the legendary volunteers of the festival where a professionalization also continues to take hold, just as the event takes place itself, with its singular spirit , in the world of cinema. This is also why it will always be supported by the Grand Est Region: “It is also the festival most supported by the regional council” will recall regional councilor Sylvie D’Alguerre who was keen to highlight the work of all elected officials to push this great event: local, departmental and regional elected officials, without forgetting the deputy Christophe Naegelen who was unable to be present at this conference. “Alone, we go faster; together, we go further”, and this is how we head towards the 32nd edition of the great mass of fantasy in Gérardmer. Who would have believed it? In any case, it is a fantastic adventure which continues and which seems to have good days ahead of it, or rather dark days full of ghosts, monsters, natural disasters, zombies, etc.
