Less formalistic than in his previous feature films (Singapore Hotels or Be With Me), Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo comes closer, here, to the delicate family chronicles of Hirokazu Kore-eda. And offers Catherine Deneuve one of her craziest roles, which echoes her long career as well as her private life. Last pleasure, and not the least, of Yōkai…, that of discovering three new songs by Jeanne Cherhal, written and composed especially for the star – who performs them with grace.
