At Hitek, we love animated cinema, in all its forms. And the year 2025 promises some very nice surprises. The proof with eight films that we are impatiently awaiting!
#1 Wallace and Gromit: The Palm of Vengeance, by Nick Park and Merlin Cossingham (Aardman Animations)
A few months ago, fans of the Aardman Animations studio feared that the legendary British studio would close its doors due to a shortage of modeling clay. False alarm! The studio behind Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run et Shaun the Sheep is still able to produce films. They also recently announced a collaboration with The Pokemon Company, expected for 2026. Aardman Animations will also make its return at the start of 2025 with the animated feature film Wallace and Gromit: The Palm of Vengeanceexpected on Netflix on January 3. (The feature film will be premiered in England on the BBC on December 25, 2024. Our neighbors across the Channel are extremely lucky…)
English and French critics have already seen the film, and it seems thatthere is every reason to look forward to Wallace and Gromit: The Palm of Vengeance. Not content with marking the great return of the most iconic duo in stop-motion cinema (title also contested by Jack and Sallie from The Nightmare Before Christmasit is true), of which it is the first film since the excellent Wallace and Gromit: The Mystery of the Were-Rabbit in 2005, the film would be a real gem of animation in terms of volume. As predicted Chicken Run: La Menace Nuggets (released December 2023), the talent of Aardman's animators continues to grow. Directed by the brilliant Nick Park, the film also marks the return of the impassioned penguin Feather McGraw32 years after the short film Bad pants. We have difficulty hiding our eagerness!

#2 Elio, by Domee Shi (Pixar)
Forced by the Disney group to serve as a reservoir of productions for the Disney+ catalog, the Pixar studio has seen three of its major films (Soul, Luca, Red Alert) in recent years deprived of cinemas. The desk lamp studio returned to the big screen with Buzz Lightyearwhich was a box office flop. If the following film, Elementarymanaged to achieve a completely honorable score, the first weeks of distribution of the feature film initially worried Pixar. Fortunately, Vice-versa 2 managed to raise the bar, breaking numerous records.
In 2025, Pixar will present its new original feature film: Elio. The feature film will tell the extraordinary adventure of a young 11-year-old boy, Elio, who cannot fit in, and who accidentally becomes the intergalactic ambassador of our good old planet Earth to extraterrestrial populations. Written by Adrian Molina (already screenwriter of Coco) and directed by Domee Shi (to whom we owe Red Alert), Elio promises to be a very promising project, full of humor and emotion. Great Pixar!

#3 Zootopia 2, by Jared Bush (Disney)
Is the era of original Disney Animation Classics over? It looks good. While Wishreleased on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Disney studio, was a real hit at the box office, Vaiana 2 could become the highest-grossing animated film at the box office according to strong estimates. The group therefore decided to capitalize as much as possible on the sequels to its own classics. Two new sequels to The Snow Queen are in production, and Zootopia 2 is expected for November 2025. A choice that is ultimately quite logical, given the fact that the first Zootopia exceeded $1 billion in revenue and received rave reviews from both audiences and critics.
In Zootopia 2, police officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde must follow the trail of a reptile, which is turning the city of animals upside down. Undercover, they will have to operate in little-known areas of the city. If we know that singer Shakira will make her comeback in the role of Gazelle, the real attraction of the film should be the reptile Gary, to whom Ke Huy Quan (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Goonies) lends his voice. Brought back to the forefront thanks to Everything Everywhere All At Once of the duo The Daniels, which allowed him to win the Oscar for best supporting actor, the Vietnamese actor is more and more present, and that fills us with joy!
Release: November 26, 2025
#4 Animal Farm, by Andy Serkis
British actor and director Andy Serkis is definitely very busy. Hired as screenwriter and director of the film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollumproduced by Peter Jackson and Warner Bros. Discovery, the Smeagol actor is expected around the corner. Especially since the film Venom: Let There Be Carnage was a real failure, both critically and publicly. In 2025, he intends to show us the extent of his abilities as a filmmaker, with the animated film Animal Farm.
Adapting George Orwell's masterpiece (1984), Animal Farm is a short story in which the animals of a farm revolt and take power. With a lot of second degree, Orwell recounts the emergence and horrors of totalitarianism, drawing inspiration from the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the functioning of the USSR..
