Sony Pictures Animation and Netflix are working on a new animated feature film 'Ghostbusters'a film that Deadline reports already has a director. The companies have chosen Kris Pearn, director of other animated films such as 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2‘ (2013) y ‘The Willoughby Brothers' (2020), to take charge of the direction of this new project.
Other information about the film, including the cast or writers, is unknown at this time. We also don't know anything about the plot of this project, which we'll see how it fits with the 'Ghostbusters' franchise. As we previously reported, Netflix is also currently working on an animated series of the franchise, which may have some connection to the feature film in development.
The media advances that the idea with this project is to achieve something similar to what Sony previously did with its Spider-Verse. This Marvel property has not only been a massive success at the box office, but it has also spawned future projects and created several very popular characters.
