If you want to escape, trust James Cameron. There is no possible doubt that the Canadian director, to whom the Cinémathèque de Paris has dedicated an event exhibition in 2024, is one of the greatest contemporary storytellers. With Terminator (1984), born from a feverish nightmare of the filmmaker and, obviously Titanic (1998), a film of all superlatives thanks to its share of cult scenes (like that of the kiss which was not easy to shoot for Kate Winslet). In 2009, the director made the event again with Avatara science fiction odyssey with a pharaonic budget, and even more impressive success. With $2.9 billion in worldwide revenue, the first trip to Pandora is quite simply the biggest success of all time at the global box office. The sequel to this blockbuster, Avatar, The Way of Wateris broadcast this Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1, for the first time in the clear.

This second part, long awaited by fans, was released in theaters in December 2022.
