Superheroes don't only exist in the Marvel and DC universes and Ryan Reynolds wants to bring back one that has been forgotten for more than 80 years. According to Variety, the actor, who plays Wade Wilson/Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has teamed up with Paramount Animation to bring the iconic Mighty Mouse back to the cinema.

The studio hired Ryan Reynolds' company Maximum Effort Productions to produce an adaptation of the popular cartoon, and also struck a deal with Matt Lieberman (Free Guy) to write the screenplay.
A return already planned, but canceled
For those who don't know, Super Mouse is a 1942 cartoon, born as a sort of parody of Superman. She made her debut in the short film The Mouse of Tomorrow (The Mouse of Tomorrow) and saw new chapters over the following years.

Over time, several attempts were made to keep the character alive, but efforts to exploit his potential were unsuccessful. Twenty years ago, Paramount attempted to make a feature-length animated mouse film with Nickelodeon, but the project did not come to fruition.

Film producer since 2011, Ryan Reynolds will therefore return to service. He debuted in this role with the documentary The Whaleseeing his name gain momentum after also producing Deadpool in 2016. The chatty mercenary's first solo film was a resounding commercial success, grossing over $780 million worldwide.
As a producer, Reynolds also worked on Blue and Company, Blue and Company, Adam Project, Free Guy, Welcome to Wrexham, Shotgun Wedding, Deadpool 2 et Deadpool & Wolverinewhich broke all records this summer.
