The success of The Penguinthe series derived from The Batmanconfirms the public's passion for the Batman's enemies (except when it's in the form of a failed musical, as Todd Phillips learned to his cost). With The Penguin, Matt Reeves' superheroic universe continues to expand on the small screen. Before Batman Returns, scheduled for September 30, 2026this mini-series explores the rise of the criminal in the dark and perverse mysteries of Gotham City. Played by Colin Farrell, the villain is only just getting started of his rise within the underworld and all that it corrupts. The actor has just revealed to our colleagues at THR that he will be back in the sequel with Robert Pattinson, how many films he signed forand even how many scenes he should appear in!

Not really. I don't expect anything. I signed on for three Batman films, but I didn't know if I would play in the second one. Matt Reeves is a brilliant screenwriter and an extraordinary filmmaker, and what excites me most about the second movie isn't what Oz does – or what difficult situations he finds himself in, or what moments of success are that he can know – but who he is. What is his personality? It formed and evolved in his miniseries, and by the end of the eight episodes, he had become different. There is an almost delusional level of psychopathy in the last scene. How will this be carried over into the second film? I was told I had five or six scenes. I have no hopes or expectations. I'm really open, and that's how I become excited or not excited about a project. I think sometimes actors, if they have a career of a certain length, make too many decisions. Which doesn't mean I won't defend Oz, argue and fight for him, who I think I know better than anyone today.

Excellent news for fans, which is coupled with a possible return of Barry Keoghan as Joker in The Batman 2 !
