Marvel Studios Finally Reveals Who Bought Avengers Tower

Avengers Tower is perhaps the most iconic building in theMarvel Cinematic Universe. It is an integral part of the fictional New York City skyline. Or at least it was.

Avengers Tower now belongs to…

Fans of Marvel Those with intimate knowledge of the MCU will know that Tony Stark initially transformed his skyscraper – Stark Tower – in midtown Manhattan into a headquarters for the Avengers, before eventually selling it and moving his team to off-site facilities. of the city.

It’s never explained why Stark decided to sell the tower, but we always thought he decided that having a powerful team of superheroes camped out in the middle of New York might be a little dangerous for, you know , everyone. This is all the more true following the events of the Battle of New York.

Whatever the reason, Marvel Studios just revealed exactly who bought Avengers Tower, although we’re not sure it will be used with the best intentions going forward.

Many suspected CIA Director Valentina Allegra de (played by the talented Julia Louis-Dreyfus from the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2021), to be at the origin of this purchase. Others thought it could have been Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) or even the Fantastic Four. This isn’t a big step forward, given that several allusions in films like Black Widow suggest she’s trying to create her own superhero team – one that the US government can actually control.

Indeed, the latest trailer for Thunderbolts* 100% confirms that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and the CIA now own Avengers Tower. No doubt to be able to install their own team there and fill the void left by the absence of the Avengers.

Although the new trailer doesn’t explicitly say “It’s Avengers Tower”only a fool would think it could be any other building.

« Is it crazy to think about all the monumental battles that took place right where you are? » Valentina asks the Thunderbolts as they exit an elevator into a penthouse and bar that looks very familiar. “I mean, the place wasn’t cheap, but it has good optics. »

She talks about the famous Tower where Tony developed many technologies, where Loki was massacred by the Hulk, where Vision was born or where two Steve Rogers confronted each other. We’re in Avengers Tower and Valentina is putting together her own team. We also know that the asterisk at the end of Thunderbolts* is there for a reason. We will probably know at the end of the film: could it really be the Dark Avengers team? Or New Avengers?

Remember that the Avengers Tower was sold by Tony Stark in 2016. That’s when Happy Hogan evacuated all the equipment from this Tower, equipment which was then diverted and stolen by the Vulture in Spider-Man : Homecoming. In July 2024, the tower underwent significant renovations and was redesigned by its new owners (unknown until today).

Thunderbolts* is coming in May 2025, so we won’t have long to wait to find out.
