“They screwed up everything”: Artus reacts to his climb up the steps of the Cannes Film Festival with the team of his film A little thing more

The film crew A little something extra finally took the steps of the Cannes Film Festival this Wednesday, May 22. Director Artus, surrounded by several of his actors, welcomed this great moment for the team of his film, which is a hit in theaters.

It’s the punchy film of this spring in French cinemas. No, we’re not talking about the juggernaut here Dune 2 by Denis Villeneuve, but indeed by Little Thumb A little something extra of a certain Artus. The comedian and actor goes behind the camera for the first time and the result certainly exceeds all his expectations: with 500,000 admissions in three days, the feature film simply achieves the second best start in history French cinema behind Welcome to the Ch’tis ! The milestone of three million entries was also exceeded at the very beginning of the week and it was therefore only natural that Artus and his team were invited to climb the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes this Wednesday. A very special honor since the film includes several disabled actors in its ranks.

Artus happy after climbing the stairs

Ahead of the prestigious ceremony, Artus was annoyed to see that major luxury brands had refused to dress his young stars. “I think that it’s always more elegant for a brand to dress Brad Pitt than dressing (…) Artus and even more actors with disabilities”, he said on France Inter on May 11, before seeing the Kering group reach out to him. It was therefore accompanied by Alice Belaidi, Clovis Cornillac, Marc Riso but also the young Marie Colin and Sofian Ribes that Artus climbed the steps, beautifully dressed, this Wednesday.

A revenge for the director, who expressed his joy at the microphone of AFP, just after the ceremony: “They screwed up all the codes, they screwed up everything, it was great, it was magical. Climbing the steps is already exceptional, but climbing them in these conditions with them it’s extraordinary” reacted the comedian, for whom this moment “will remain engraved“. Probably not as much as in the minds of its young actors, who went from anonymity to stars of the Croisette in the space of a wonderful day.
