here is the most viewed film on Disney+

Star Wars: The Phantom Menacearguably the most unloved film in the saga Star Wars (not to mention the trilogy produced by Disney), has revolutionized the cinema industry in many aspects and today beats this new record.

The most viewed Star Wars film in the franchise

When Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace was released, purists of the original trilogy cried foul and viewed the film very negatively. However, a large part of the public, including the youngest, loved this film about young Anakin Skywalker and the last days as a padawan of Obi-Wan Kenobi. With Naboo, whose landscapes full of waterfalls and the very different peoples who live there, make this planet a sort of haven of peace in the galaxy, but also Coruscant, whose surface is covered by an immense urban megalopolis, which n is reminiscent of Ridley Scott’s film Blade Runner released in the early 80s and The fifth Element by Frenchman Luc Besson, all of its environments are very different from the original trilogy and bring a breath of fresh air to this very, very distant galaxy.

However, this film was sadly criticized by some fans of the saga and even after the release of the two following films which are Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones And Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sithhe remained the most unloved for many years. However, he has since been rehabilitated to the point of recently achieving a new record for George Lucas’ franchise.

It turns out in fact that Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace has become the most viewed film in the saga on the Disney+ streaming platform. This feat, although it may disconcert a certain number of people, is not so surprising if we think about it carefully. The generation that grew up with the prequel trilogy, in the late 90s and early 2000s, is today the segment of fans where we find the most young parents. Who says young parents, also says a pronounced taste for introducing their children to the films that rocked their youth. It is therefore not so abnormal that this film, partly unloved by the previous generation, has today become the Star Wars most seen among the generation who watch Disney+ with their children. We can also explain this renewed interest in The Phantom Menace both by the wave of nostalgia aroused by the prelogy, but also because some fans can start marathons Star Wars without actually finishing them.
