a tense trailer for the horror thriller produced by Shyamalan

A first paranormal trailer has just dropped for Caddo Lakethe horror thriller produced by Shyamalan for Max.

If Shyamalan-director released his new film this summer Trapa thriller based on a crazy true story, and a box office success (given its budget of between $30 and $40 million), Shyamalan-producer is also very active. Via his company Blinding Edge Pictures, for example, he produced the thriller Devil by John Erick Dowdle. More recently, he also supported his daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan, by producing her first film, The Watchers.

His next project in this position is Caddo Lakefilm planned for Max. A trailer looking towards the fantastical and still highlighting Dylan O’Brien was unveiled.

The Teeth of the Lake

“An eight-year-old girl, Anna, mysteriously disappears. A connection will quickly be established with a series of murders and ancient disappearances on Caddo Lake and end up breaking up a family. » After a teaser which seemed to promise a serial killer story, the trailer instead accentuates the fantastical side: strange sounds and screams as if from beyond (heard only by Dylan O’Brien and Eliza Scanlen), a sort of dome, uncontrolled tremors and bleeding, unexplained presence of wolves at the lake, disappearances, etc. Dylan O’Brien seems consumed by guilt over the accident that killed his mother, which he witnessed.

Celine Held and Logan Georgewho staged Caddo Lake, are American directors still at the beginning of their careersbut the first tests were promising. Held and George, after their short films Mouse And Lockdownscreened by Sundance, were nominated for the Short Film Palme and the Oscar for Best Short Film with Carolinewhich took place in Texas. Held and George then moved on with Topsidea grueling film with documentary precision on the precariousness of a mother and her daughter in New York, awarded at the Biennale.

Intriguing, definitely

We remain curious about the project, and in particular the possible social side of deep America. Released October 10 on Max in the United Statesstill no date for , where the platform is now accessible.
