We almost forget that the Super Bowl is a sporting event; Fortunately, the trailer for The Fall Guy by David Leitch with Ryan Gosling is here to stay on theme.

After stealing the spotlight from Barbie in his own film, Ryan Gosling seems more than ever in the odor of holiness in Hollywood. Not that the guy lacked recognition; after being revealed to the general public with the excellent romantic comedy Crazy Stupid Lovehe played an anonymous stuntman a few months later in the no less remarkable Drive by Nicolas Winding Refn, whose critical reception allowed him to pursue many more or less prestigious projects subsequently.

With The Fall Guya film adaptation of the eponymous series broadcast between 1981 and 1986, Gosling is therefore offered the opportunity to revisit one of the predominant roles in his filmography, while obviously adding a very wacky twist.

“ryan motherf*cking gosling”

Here again, it is for the actor to lend his features to a stuntman leading a double life. But rather than leading members of organized crime against the backdrop of Kavinsky, this time it is a question of “manhunting”. If the original series initially revolved around a stuntman acting as a bounty hunter to add butter to his spinach, this new iteration of Colt Seavers seems more determined to find the star for whom he once provided dubbing.

David Leitch being David Leitch, this new adventure will hardly happen without some nicely hyperbolic stylistic effects and other possible antics. Also, these first images largely set the tone by continuing cryptic cartoons, comical-stupid situations, and Carambar dialogues (ice cream/ice crime, yes, we’ll remember that one).

Unicorns, burritos and Taylor Swift will be there of this feature film which leaves us pleasantly perplexed for the moment. After all, the converted stuntman’s previous directing credits haven’t exactly stood out for their respective qualities (Atomic Blondsomeone ? Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw ?? Bullet Train ???). Since no one is safe from a pleasant surprise, however, it will be a matter of waiting until the May 1 to find out what wood The Fall Guy will be done.
