Moto2 – Jake Dixon is on the rise

Jake Dixon has been on a roll since securing his first podium of the season at the last Catalan Grand Prix. The Aspar Moto2 rider, who has just secured a contract with Marc VDS Racing for 2025, is aiming to end the 2024 season in the best possible way, in order to start the next campaign as the headliner.

After his podium in Barcelona, Jake Dixon had a less good weekend in Italy. The three-week break between Mugello and Assen did him some good, however, as he has not dropped out of the top four since.

Fourth in the Netherlands and then second in Germany, the Briton made a return to the top at Silverstone, on home soil, before following up with a new appearance on the box two weeks ago, at the Red Bull Ring (Austria).

Results that allow the number 96 to accumulate valuable points in the championship after a difficult start to the season. Over the total of the last six races, he is also the Moto2 rider who has collected the most. While he was 89 points behind Sergio Garcia after the French Grand Prix, he now occupies seventh place in the , 68 points behind the Spaniard.

Having just signed with Marc VDS Racing for his next season in the intermediate class, Jake Dixon is setting his goals for the end of the current season. At Aragon, as on the rest of the nine tracks where Moto2 will still go in 2024, he hopes to keep the same working dynamic with his team and assert himself as a serious opponent for the others.

“The weekend in Austria was an example of how, without giving up, working from the beginning to the end of the Grand Prix, we can fight for big goals,
confided the latter on the sidelines of the penultimate Spanish meeting of the season. We have four podiums under our belt. All of them have been achieved in the last six races. If we continue like this, we can arrive at the end of the season with a serious chance of concluding this championship in style.”

This weekend, he could notably take back sixth place in the championship from Celestino Vietti, from whom he is currently two lengths behind.
