You're not interested enough in social media to follow several hundred drivers and teams, but you don't like to miss any of the little stories that animate MotoGP and the other categories? This daily section is made for you, early in the morning, to start the day well while waiting for more substantial articles. For now, Aleix Espargaró is heading back on a mission aboard a MotoGP with Honda.
Since his last MotoGP race, Aleix Espargao has not taken advantage of his sporting retirement, as other riders were able to do this winter. In the middle of winter, the Catalan announced his reconversion as a professional cyclist, within the Lidl-Trek team. Since then, the No. 41 has continued to train with his new teammates on the sidelines of the upcoming season.
This week, however, he will take a break from cycling, to devote himself again to his role as a Motorcycle pilot. Part of the HRC test team, along with Takaaki Nakagami and Stefan Bradl, Aleix Espargaró is preparing to fulfill his first mission as a Honda rider.
This week, HRC reserve drivers will travel to Thailand to take part in private testing for the brand.
“It’s time to change my lycra (Fiber used for cystitis suits. Editor’s note) for my leather. These six weeks of intense training were cool! I'm ready to ride my Honda here in Thailand. But hey, my beautiful bike, I'll see you next week, for my second training camp »
confides Espargaro on his social networks.
During this first cycling training camp, from December 1st to January 14th, the Iberian spent more than 140 hours traveling the roads, covering a total of 4,505 kilometers by bike.
