MotoGP post-season testing continues to reveal interesting details, including a previously unnoticed innovation on the new Aprilia of Jorge
Martin. If the official photos showed a motorcycle in red and purple colors with a large number “89”, it was an all-black Aprilia, used discreetly, which hid an intriguing technological secret.
On this black motorcycle, a striking detail caught the attention of keen motorpasion observers: a discreet but sophisticated duct, located on the lower part of the fairing, at the front of the keel. This unique piece was not visible either during the Solidarity Grand Prix or on the other motorcycles.Aprilia tested at

This conduit appears to be designed to solve one of the main problems of RS-GP: temperature management.
Maverick Viñales had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the build-up of heat generated by the bike, which bothered riders during the hottest races.
