“Pecco and Jorge have had an incredible last two seasons”

Fabio Quartararo concluded the season in 13th position in the world championship standings, best rider on a Japanese machine.

Season review. “I feel like I'm a little faster. However, the first part of the season, more than the improvement of the bike, it was the way we changed our working method. For me it was really important to change the mindset, and I think the dealership helped too. When an engine worked, we had it at the next race. We didn't have to wait for the bike to improve. The first half went like this. As for the second half, I think we managed to improve in a few areas, especially on electronics. Tuesday will be very important for us and for me, to feel if the engine is more powerful or not. »

Hopes ? “High hopes, no. Because in the end, with the concessions, we were able to change quite a few engines, quite a few chassis. In the end, these are not great hopes either, but I know that there is an engine which should be there on Tuesday, which should be better in any case in top speed. »

A deserved title?“I think so. Pecco and Jorge have had an incredible last two seasons. Jorge deserved it this year, because I think he has matured a lot as a driver, as a person. And, you know, when the manufacturer decided not to keep him, he had the courage, let's say, to leave in the best possible way. So he deserves this title. »
