Bagnaia wins but loses his title, Martin champion

Francesco Bagnaia dominated the Barcelona Solidarity Grand Prix ahead of Marc Marquez, but it was not enough to take the title. Third of the day, Jorge Martin is the new MotoGP world champion by 10 points ahead of Pecco. The French Fabio Quartararo (11th) and Johann Zarco (14th) finished in the points.

Francesco Bagnaia had one of the best weekends of his career in terms of results in Barcelona. Author of pole position, he led all laps of the sprint on Saturday, then of the race this Sunday. At 26, he achieved his greatest dream by winning the supreme title, 10 points ahead Bagnaia.

Second of the day, M. Marquez finished 3rd in the championship ahead of Enea Bastianinicame 7th in Barcelona. The Italian hoped to fight for the podium but the battles fought in the peloton worked against him. He notably crossed swords with Aleix Espargaro5th and first non-Ducati rider after a duel engaged in the last kilometers against Alex Marquez (4th). Brad Binder (6e) et Pedro Acosta (10th) put two KTMs in the top-10, the Spaniard finishing just ahead Fabio Quartararo (11th). The Frenchman is the best representative of Yamaha, as is his compatriot Johann Zarco for Honda (14th). Thus ends a historic 2024 season in more than one way.
