While the end of the first day was dominated by the double reigning champion, Francesco Bagnaia, the Italian will have to confirm his good form for the rest of the hostilities. Before starting qualifying, the drivers left for a final free practice session. Shorter than the previous ones, this work session lasted half an hour, the teams did the final rehearsals and fine-tuned the settings. The track conditions were not optimal this morning, due to the fairly cold temperature of the asphalt.
But despite precarious grip, Maverick Vinales topped the timesheet, ahead of Franco Morbidelli and Alex Marquez, with a time of 1:40:208. The two championship contenders, Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin finished outside the top ten, eleventh and twelfth. For our French, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco crossed the finish line in fourteenth and eighteenth place.
