The Thai Grand Prix is in full swing, and the Moto3 category is not left out with the P2 which has just ended. As usual, the main threat came from Colombia. David Alonso (CFMoto Aspar Team), on a series of four consecutive victories, is aiming for the new record of victories in a season, namely, 12. He can free himself from it on Sunday, but before that, he will have to face the competition . It is made up of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3), of course, but also Adrian Fernandez (Honda Leopard Racing), on a good run for a few Grands Prix. Yesterday, however, it was David Alonso who led both sessions, FP and P1, with, as a bonus, a new lap record. Holgado was not far away, as was Joel Kelso (KTM Boé Motorsport) and Adrian Fernandez. Everything remains to be done.
Even if P2 is over, come and relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

After setting the best time in P1 on Friday afternoon in Thailand, David Alonso seems to have taken shelter somewhat. His time of 1:40.703 does not seem threatened, no one will come close to it at least during the first fifteen minutes of driving. This does not prevent the peloton from tightening.
The top-10 of this P2 is thus held within six tenths throughout the first part of the session, with a provisional reference time (for the only attempts made on Saturday morning) of 1:40.832, achieved by Luca Lunetta. A mark which allows him to become the second driver to reach this milestone this weekend.
As we entered the last five minutes of this running session, things hadn't changed from a timesheet perspective. Taiyo Furusato then presents himself as a threat to the Colombian, setting a time in the 40 minute as well.
He would experience more success during his next attempt, completing 1:40.625, which allowed him to take control two minutes from the end of the session, to dislodge David Alonso from the lead.
While many were forced to abort their last attempt due to the yellow flags caused by the fall of David Munoz, Furusato dealt a final blow to David Alonso, and completed the session in 1:40.577, or 33 thousandths of the record established by No. 80 the day before.
Ivan Ortola will also manage to put himself in front of Alonso, in 1:40.699. David Alonso finished tenth overall in P2, but retained third place in the combined standings thanks to his time from the day before. He is the only driver in the top-14 who did not improve this Saturday morning.
Other drivers, such as Angel Piqueras, showed they had the potential to improve at the end, but were hampered during their final attempt as traffic made it difficult for many men on track.
