MotoGP Japan J2, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Q4/S2): “Marc Marquez is always difficult to overtake”

Enea Bastianini still scores big points in Japan. Very impressive in this second part of the season, the Italian finished second in a good Sprint, just behind his teammate Pecco Bagnaia. In addition, he managed to get rid of a tenacious Marc Marquez, who heckled him for a time. “Bestia” is fast; from now on, he embodies a real danger on all tracks, in all circumstances.

The 2020 Moto2 world champion did not skimp. Between a very good qualifying session and some high-class overtaking, his Saturday in Japan was very complete. All he needed was victory. « Maybe I would have won with one more turn. I don’t know what happened to Pecco, it seems to me that he had an alert on his dashboard on the last lap. In the end, it’s a good second place” he affirmed in the columns of GPOne.

Of course, he returned to this magnificent contest between him and Marc Marquez. « Marc is always difficult to pass. It was a very good duel. I was often at the limit, especially when braking. We probably lost a little time with him, but I happened to let go of the position rather than make a mistake »
he continued.

Pedro Acosta was one of the main leaders of this high-intensity Sprint. His efforts were reduced to nothing due to a fall, alone in the lead, a few laps from the finish.
« Pedro was very fast today, but I expected that. It is very strong on the brakes in a straight line, this is where it makes the difference. He made a mistake, okay, but we will see him again tomorrow at the forefront.
He was very fast »
the Italian concluded immediately.
