MotoGP, news from Miguel Oliveira: has he already finished with his Aprilia period?


Miguel Oliveira, MotoGP rider, was forced to take the pool after a violent fall during free practice for the Indonesian Grand Prix. The highside that shook his weekend in Mandalika caused him several fractures in his right wrist, a hard blow for the Portuguese driver, especially at this stage of the season. With several races close together, including the Japanese Grand Prix, this injury couldn’t have come at a worse time. In addition, this complicates the end of his adventure with TrackHouse Racing and Aprilia before his move to Yamaha and Pramac Racing for 2025.

After his accident during EL1 at Mandalika,
Oliveira was immediately treated at the circuit Medical Center before being transferred to a local hospital for further examinations. “ Miguel suffered a fractured radius in his right arm », explains the team
TrackHouse Aprilia. « The fracture was immobilized and he was then transported to Lisbon where Dr. Gonçalo Morais Sarmento and his team performed surgery to stabilize the bone with a plate. »

The recovery is now underway, but the first news is not reassuring for fans of the Portuguese driver. “ Miguel will rest all weekand we will assess his condition before determining the continuation of his recovery program », specifies the team. For the moment, it seems unlikely thatOliveira
can participate in the Grands Prix of Japan andAustralia. His participation in the last races of the MotoGP season still remains pending.
