Jorge Martin thanks Ducati for allowing him to fight for the title of MotoGP world champion, even though he was about to leave the brand.

Present in Bologna this Tuesday, Jorge Martin may have attended one of his last events as a Ducati rider. The Italian manufacturer brought together its representatives for an evening, celebrating in particular the successes of the year 2024. Crowned MotoGP world champion, the Spaniard was present for the occasion.

Martin obtained his title by dethroning the official Ducati rider, Francesco Bagnaia, while he was riding for the satellite team Prima Pramac Racing. All in a particular context, since the Spaniard signed for Aprilia last May, and will join Noale in 2025.

Faced with this situation, many people believed that Ducati would put Martin at a disadvantage. None of this happened, the Borgo Panigale firm played fair and allowed Martinator to play its card. An attitude that the new champion underlined during his visit to Italy.

“I can only be grateful to the brand. She gave me the opportunity to get into MotoGP”he recalled. “When I arrived it wasn't the easiest bike, but we had mutual trust. She allowed me to fight for the title until the end, despite what everyone believed. »
