Joan Mir and Luca Marini are heading to the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, scene of the last Grand Prix of the season. And in their first communication, the Repsol Honda Team drivers had a thought for the victims of the deadly floods in Valencia and Spain, while funds linked to the organization of the Grand Prix will be donated to disaster relief.
Joan Mir: “It will be a weekend full of emotions, I think of all those in Valencia and throughout Spain who were affected by storm DANA. I think it's a good thing that we can do something for them, that we can dedicate the efforts of a Grand Prix weekend to helping those who need it. »
“As for the weekend, from a sporting point of view it is for us to do the last checks before 2025. We had the Barcelona race earlier in the year and we also did some testing here, so there's a lot of information to check out before we see what Tuesday has in store. »
Luca Marini: “Of course, the main objective of this weekend is to do what we can to help those who have been affected by what has happened recently in Spain. »
“With the development of the Honda and myself, revisiting the circuits from earlier in the year is useful to clearly compare the situation. Barcelona is a track where normally there is not a lot of grip, so for us it is interesting to continue working to improve in one of the areas in which we have not been very strong. As always, we have to see how the weekend goes as the conditions will be quite different to those in May. »
