Moto2 – Marc VDS team completes its line-up for 2025

After announcing the signing of Jake Dixon in August, the Marc VDS Racing team, competing in the Moto2 World Championship, has just made official the signing of its second rider for the next campaign: Filip Salac.

Filip Salac has joined the Marc VDS Racing team for the 2024 Moto2 season, and will continue to feature next year. The 22-year-old, who has been improving in the second half of the season with a few top-10 appearances, will be Jake Dixon’s future teammate.

Impacted by a series of injuries this year, the Czech is not living the best hours of his career. The Belgian team however wanted to offer him a year of reprieve.

A choice that the owner of the eponymous team, Marc van der Straten, bases on confidence, assuring that he believes in the latter’s potential to play at the top of the table next year.

“It is true that the results of this season are far from what we wanted. And from what we know Filip can achieve,
he confided at the time of the announcement. It has been a difficult season of adaptation made worse by injuries.

But I am convinced that Filip can come back with the necessary support, and we will give it to him, continues Marc van der Straten. We are looking forward to seeing him show his courage so that he can fight for the top positions. We have confidence in him and I am sure he will give his all to get the results we all want.”

An announcement that had been in the pipeline since the race on the Red Bull Ring (Austria) as suggested by the photo taken by the team owner with his driver, as well as the rumors that had gained momentum since that date.

It also means, as expected, that the team will part ways with Tony Arbolino at the end of the season. Although the latter achieved some feats with the team in the two races at Misano.

“I would like to thank the Marc VDS racing team and in particular Marc for giving me this opportunity to stay with this fantastic project in 2025, adds the main person concerned. This year is not going as planned, due to a combination of bad luck and injuries. It has been a very difficult time for me, but I am extremely grateful for all the support the team has given me.

They still believe in me, and that gave me a lot of confidence, which showed in the last three races, Filip Salac then emphasizes. As my confidence has grown, the results have also been strong and I am now looking forward to a positive end to the season as we build towards 2025. Once again, thanks to Marc for putting his faith in me and I hope to be fighting at the front from the first race next season.”

As a reminder, the Marc VDS Racing team will switch to the Boscoscuro chassis next year, under the agreement reached between the two parties earlier in the season.
