Argentina continues to add points at the top – CONMEBOL

Argentina beat Chile 3-0 in the seventh round of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, played this Thursday at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires.

Midfielder Alexis Mac Allister at 48′, Julián Álvarez at 84′ and Paulo Dybala, wearing the number ’10’ shirt, at 90+1′, scored the goals for the victory of the Albiceleste, which remains the leader of the route to the World Cup that will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada in 2026.

Before the match, a tribute was held to Ángel Di María, who retired from the Argentine national team after winning the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024.

On the following date, Argentina will visit Colombia in Barranquilla on Tuesday, September 10, while Chile will host Bolivia in Santiago.
