Algerian elections: High turnout among expatriates

In this regard, polling stations in many countries recorded a “remarkable increase and turnout” of members of the Algerian community, according to the Algerian News Agency, in order to choose the next president of the republic.

The electoral process continued at the polling station in Frankfurt, Germany, where representatives of the Algerian associative movement expressed their hope that the issue of strengthening the involvement of members of the national community residing abroad in the development of the motherland would constitute “one of the priorities” of the president who will be elected.

In Tunisia, the coordinator of the Independent National Elections Authority in the sixth region (Africa), Nasreddine Sifi, confirmed that there was a “great turnout” from members of the Algerian community residing in Tunisia and many countries in the region that he has been supervising since the start of the voting process, explaining that the general atmosphere prevailing in the electoral process is “very positive.”

As for the Algerian community residing in Egypt, the voting process continued at two polling stations in Cairo and Alexandria governorates, with 1,647 registered voters at the polling station at the Algerian Embassy in Cairo and 236 registered voters at a polling station in Alexandria.

In the electoral district of Barcelona in Spain, there was an “increasing turnout” at the polling stations by the electorate, as the voting process continues across all polling stations in strict organizational conditions and in a festive atmosphere among voters from the Algerian community.

Members of the Algerian community residing in South Africa continued the voting process at the polling station at the Algerian Embassy in Pretoria, where members of the community flocked to the polling station in good conditions, as all the necessary material and human capabilities were provided to make this event a success.

In France, specifically in the city of Avignon (100 km from Marseille), the bad weather did not prevent members of the Algerian community from turning out in large numbers to the polling stations, where many of them expressed their hope that the elected president would work to achieve “more accomplishments” in addition to those achieved in recent years.

In Italy, the same process continued, as social media platforms imposed themselves among the Algerian community as one of the most important sources of information and guidance, especially these days, noting that the number of polling stations is estimated at 12 electoral stations distributed throughout Italy, including 5 fixed offices and 7 mobile ones, covering a total of 27 cities in this country.

On the other hand, the community residing in Jordan began the voting process on Wednesday at two voting offices to enable the community to perform its electoral duty.
