Monk : A particularly important final investigation for Adrien Monk…

Divided into two episodes, the last investigation, entitled Monk is leaving turns out to be the most important of the career of the ex-policeman turned private detective and consultant for the San Francisco Police Department. Indeed, Adrien Monk finds himself facing a deeply personal case: discovering who ordered the murder of Trudy, his wife who died twelve years earlier. An investigation that upsets the former inspector. That day, Monk and Leland Stottlemeyer investigate the murder of a doctor. As soon as they arrive at the doctor’s office, they are immediately reminded of the events of twelve years ago, when they learned, at the same place, that Trudy had lost her life. Despite these disturbing memories, the two investigators examine the crime scene and identify without hesitation the modus operandi of a small-time criminal named Joey Kazarinski. For them, there is no doubt about the latter’s guilt. Faced with their convictions, the duo of inspectors rush to request an arrest warrant from Judge Ethan Rickover… Who is in reality the real instigator of Trudy’s murder!

Monk : At the end of the series, Adrien Monk officially retires…

A few hours later, Judge Rickover calls Kazarinski: “We have a big problem! You left a footprint at the clinic. They know your identity and are now looking for you. You need to deal with Adrien Monk immediately, or I’m sure he’ll make the connection between us, and this case could get too personal, since I murdered his wife 12 years ago.” Shortly after, the inspector, weakened by an attempted poisoning, sets off a real race against time to find the perpetrator of Trudy’s murder.
