The fight is on for the ‘Pichichi’ of the 2024/25 LaLiga season. Robert Lewandowski saw the awakening of what may be his biggest rival for the title this season. After three games without scoring, Kylian Mbappé scored a double that gave Real Madrid a 2-0 victory over Betis and establishes himself as a clear candidate for the top scorer in Spain.
Mbappé scored his first goal in the competition in the 67th minute after a beautiful backheel pass from Valverde on the edge of the area where he only had to push the ball into the back of the goal. The second came from a penalty that Rui Silva had committed on Vinicius Jr in the 75th minute. But the Frenchman will not have it easy to keep the ‘Pichichi’ because he knows that he will have rivals in front of him who will fight until the end.
Lewandowski vs Mbappé for the ‘Pichichi’?
Without a doubt, one of the most interesting stories is the duel between these two top scorers. However, we cannot dismiss the work of other great strikers who could cause a surprise.
