back to the future at the Assembly?

Since his departure from the government last January, Olivier Véran has not been idle. The neurologist first thought about heading back to the hospital, before turning around – twist of events! – towards aesthetic medicine. Ultimately, it was in consulting and lobbying that he set his sights, creating his company Innov and serving on the board of directors of Lunettes Pour Tous. A winding journey to say the least which could experience a new twist.

A golden opportunity for Olivier Véran in his historic stronghold

The first constituency of Isère, of which he was elected for 12 years, before losing it by a hair in July (40.24% against 42.35%), found itself without a deputy. His successor Hugo Prévost, 25, has just resigned following accusations of sexual violence, while his deputy has also thrown in the towel. A by-election must be held within three months, probably between early December and mid-January 2025.
