Cruise passenger shares videos of Hurricane Milton’s strong winds

(CNN) – A cruise passenger is seeing firsthand just how intense Hurricane Milton is as the ship buckles down to outlast the storm.

Theresa Perrin is on the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas cruise which left from Galveston, Texas on Saturday.

The cruise was supposed to head to Roatan, Honduras and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

However, the crew has already canceled their stops in Roatan and Costa Maya to avoid the hurricane for their safety.

Perrin said the ship has not had any issues, but the cruise has been very rocky and “feels as if you are walking completely drunk.”

“I have spent over one year of my life cruising, and this is the second roughest experience I have ever had,” Perrin said.

All of the pools, hot tubs and many of the entertainment shows have been canceled, Perrin explained.

“It just isn’t much fun not being able to go to our ports of call and being stuck on a ship with no open pools and not enough entertainment due to the conditions,” Perrin said. “I feel bad for first time cruisers, as I’m sure this will not make them want to go on another cruise.”

As Milton approaches land while passing through the Gulf of Mexico, the hurricane has dropped from a category 5 to a category 4.

Officials have urged residents who are able to evacuate before the hurricane hits the West Coast of Florida.

Milton is expected to make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday.
