During the ordinary session of the Council of the Casablanca-Settat region, Abdellatif Maâzouz presented the main achievements at mid-term.

The Council has implemented projects focused on rural development, improving water and electricity supplies, as well as the construction of roads to open up rural areas. These actions aim to overcome the challenges posed by water scarcity, in particular with water interconnection projects and desalination stations.

At the same time, the Regional Council has placed particular emphasis on investment to encourage job creation. The regional development program (2022-2027) provides for multiple initiatives promoting economic inclusion and the active participation of the private sector, with the objective of facilitating access to employment opportunities, particularly for young people. Finally, Mr. Maâzouz underlined the need for a coherent strategic vision to guarantee balanced development between urban and rural areas.

The Council’s ambition is to create a solid infrastructure to attract investors and enhance the region’s human capital, while respecting government guidelines and relying on available resources.
