A remarkable rain episode is about to hit over the next 36 hours. Ex-Hurricane Kirk is approaching the French coast and will bring very heavy rain with it, thus forming a new atmospheric river.

The heaviest rains are expected in the northwestern regions of France. For now, the departments located between " rel="tag">Pays de la Loire and Île-de-France are placed on vigilance for heavy rains and the risk of flooding. This vigilance could change in the coming hours.

Météo-France therefore placed at 10 a.m. this morning 19 departments on orange alert due to heavy rain expected from next night in the north-western regions of France.
