Wicklow’s decisions target Wydad Club, and their contradiction raises question marks – TelQuel Arabic

The “Winners” faction, which supports Wydad Sports Club, presented its position on the continuation of the decision to ban fans from attending the most prominent matches of the 2024-25 football season, the last of which was during Wydad’s anticipated confrontation against Hassania Agadir today, Saturday.

The faction said in a statement, today, Saturday, that “Wicklo” in Morocco is “a form of punishing fans who have fallen into the error of rioting or unsporting acts. However, supporters of Wydad and Hassania Agadir were not prohibited, but they were surprised by the decision to ban their movement.” To the city of Berrechid, whose municipal stadium will host the confrontation that is included in Round 5 of the championship competitions.

In their report, “Jund Al-Wydad” cited similar incidents, during which the decision to ban the attendance of fans was withdrawn, which confirms, according to the same source, a strange selective treatment during decision-making.

The report hinted at “the presence of a target against Wydad Sports Club, to stand in the way of the return of its glow,” by saying: “Two events confirm beyond any doubt that we are facing a clear and explicit targeting of Wydad. Those who do not want Wydad to return to its glow are not content with depriving it of African participation and appointing referees.” They are trying to prevent it from winning, and they are even targeting its fans, given the important role it plays within the club’s system.”

“Weiners” stressed his rejection of “the restrictions and repression that affect the freedom of the masses and their constitutional rights as citizens.”

Regarding making similar decisions in a number of tournament matches, fans stressed that closing the most prominent stadiums all at once reflects “a lack of planning and poor management.”

The Wydad Sports Club fan faction continued, “The authorities no longer have the desire to organize and secure matches, so it is better not to burden the clubs with the expenses of renting the stadium, security, and other expenses that can be avoided by programming the championship matches in the training field of the receiving team, if the university does not decide.” It is also closed for maintenance and repair.
