Griezmann Announces Retirement from the French National Team!

Antoine Griezmann dropped a ‘bombshell’ announcing the end of his tenure with the French national team. He made this announcement via his ‘X’ account, where he reminisced about his best moments as a ‘bleu’ and wrote the following message: “With a heart full of memories, I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolor adventure and see you soon.”

As an emblematic figure in , the ‘Little Prince’ bids farewell to international football after 137 appearances and 44 goals scored. A World Champion in 2018, a Nations League winner, a runner-up in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and a European runner-up in 2016, he leaves behind an enormous legacy with the French national team.

Crucial to Didier Deschamps’ tactics, his absence will create a massive void in the squad from this moment forward. Currently, France is deep in the process of qualifying for the upcoming Nations League while also aiming to secure a spot at the 2026 World Cup.

There is no doubt he will be regarded as a legend of the French national team. However, he is left with a lingering regret of not winning the European Championship, the only international title he lacked lifting.
