Club World Cup: FIFA reveals competition stadiums and dispels doubts

The 2025 Club World Cup will be played in 12 stadiums in the United States, FIFA announced on Saturday. In addition to New Jersey’s Met Life Stadium, which will host the competition’s final, 11 other stadiums have been designated. These are Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta), Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte), TQL Stadium (Cincinnati), Rose Bowl Stadium (Los Angeles), Hard Rock Stadium (Miami), GEODIS Park ( Nashville), Camping World Stadium (Orlando), Inter&Co Stadium (Orlando), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia), Lumen Field (Seattle) and Audi Field (Washington). This announcement by FIFA comes at the right time. For several weeks, doubts have multiplied about the feasibility of the competition, particularly in financing and TV rights.

The announcement was made on Saturday in New York, during an event organized by “Global Citizen”, a philanthropic organization. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said this first edition of the new Club World Cup opened “a new era for club football”. For the manager, this competition “will have a huge impact on the growth of club football and players around the world,” he explained.

Organized annually since 2005, the Club World Cup will experience a lot of changes from the 2025 edition. The number of participants increases from 7 to 32 teams, including Wydad Casablanca, qualified as 2022 African champion. draw is scheduled for December in New York.
