For their second match in the CAN 2025 qualifiers, Warmed Omari’s Comoros shared the points with Madagascar (1-1).

Second cap and second start for Warmed Omari with the Comoros. On Monday evening, the OL defender, who is still waiting to wear the colours of his new club, faced Madagascar. After the draw against Gambia, the Comorians hoped to win to catch up with Tunisia in Group A of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

We will have to wait for that, because the Lyon player and his teammates once again shared the points with their opponents. They were the ones who opened the scoring in the 9th minute of play. But Troyes’ Youssouf M’Changama brought the two teams back to level before the break (1-1, 41st). Omari played the full 90 minutes, as in the previous match.

With two points on the clock, the Comoros occupy second place in the group, four lengths behind the Tunisians who had a clean sweep. For their part, the Malagasy, after this “derby”, are tied with the Gambians (one point). Omari will now return to, or more precisely discover, Olympique Lyonnais before the big meeting in Lens on Sunday (8:45 p.m.). He should once again join his selection in mid-October for a tough double confrontation against Tunisia, still in the context of the qualifiers for the next CAN.
