Real Madrid teenage sensation suffers a knock on national team duty

Real Madrid just cannot catch a break with injuries in the ongoing international break.

What began as fitness setbacks to Dani Ceballos, Ferland Mendy and Aurelien Tchouameni earlier this week only worsened last night with more players falling prey.

While Eder Militao left the Brazilian national team camp ruled out for the next two games, The Whites suffered yet another casualty in the game between Wales and Turkey last night.

Guler faces another blow

As revealed by AS, Real Madrid midfield starlet Arda Guler took a heavy blow to the tibia of his left leg in the 88th minute of the game at Cardiff City Stadium which took him to the ground.

Clearly in pain, he asked to be substituted and was seen with an ice pack immediately afterwards on the sidelines.

The young Turk will thus likely miss the national team’s next game against Iceland as a precautionary measure and it appears that there is not much to worry about beyond that.

While a clear picture will only be known after he is examined by the medical staff, Real Madrid believe that the youngster will be available to face Real Sociedad at San Sebastian.

It will be a special game for Guler as it was the stadium where he started his first game for Real Madrid last year and even scored the winner.

With Jude Bellingham out injured, Guler has seen increased prominence in recent games despite a slow start to the season. He has played a total of 105 minutes to this point and has created two big chances with 1.3 key passes per game.

His participation in the next game, however, will depend on the condition of his most recent blow. The management will take no risks.
