Mexico wins two bronze medals in Paris 2024

Today, August 30, Mexican parathletes won two bronze medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. These are Rosa María Guerrero Cázares, who achieved third place in the F55 discus throw event and para-swimmer Ángel Camacho, who secured the third medal for Mexico in the 100-meter freestyle competition.

Rosa María Guerrero Cázares won the bronze medal in the F55 discus throw event during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

In the competition, Guerrero made six throws with marks of 24.99, 25.22, 25.81, 25.05, 19.49 and 24.93 meters. His third throw was the one that secured him the bronze.

For his part, Mexican para-swimmer Ángel Camacho obtained the third medal for Mexico, after finishing the 100-meter freestyle event in the S4 category with a time of one minute 22 seconds and 32 thousandths, which earned him a bronze medal.

It is worth remembering that the S4 category of paraswimming is for those athletes who have very limited movement of the torso, legs, hands or lack of limbs.

This medal represents the third for the Mexican delegation at these Games, after Haidee Aceves won the silver medal in para-swimming on August 29.

With these medals, Mexico is now in 26th place in the medal table, tied with Turkey. The top positions are occupied by China, Great Britain and Brazil, with 16, 14 and nine medals respectively.

It is worth noting that, this Friday, August 30, Mexican parathletes will compete in the disciplines of paraswimming, paraathletics, parataekwondo, pararowing, paraarchery and boccia.
