The Victor Osimhen (25) transfer saga looks like it is set to go down to the wire. The Nigeria international has been a target for Chelsea and Saudi Arabia throughout the window, however, an agreement between all relevant parties has proven difficult to reach.
As reported by Fabrice Hawkins earlier on deadline day, Al-Ahli have reached an agreement with Napoli regarding the striker’s transfer. However, Chelsea have not given up hope of landing their man, with a delegation travelling to Italy on Thursday evening in order to wrap up a deal.
Osimhen’s preference is to move to Stamford Bridge, The Team understands, with the publication reporting that he is “very annoyed” with current club Napoli amid negotiations, as he fears the move breaking down. However, Hawkins now reports that it isn’t just the neogtiations between the clubs that are problematic, but also the talks between the player and Chelsea.
Hawkins understands that Chelsea’s latest offer of €155,000 per week has been rejected by the striker. Chelsea’s delegation remain in Italy in order to break the impass. Should they fail to do so, Osimhen may, after the whole sage, ultimately remain at Napoli.
