Hespress learned from an informed source that the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Wahbi, decided today, Tuesday, to activate the “pay for work” decision against the striking employees at the Ministry of Justice.
This decision comes as the Moroccan Court Clerks Association is holding a national strike today, Tuesday, in various courts in the Kingdom, which is expected to continue until Thursday, September 5.
Hespress sources confirmed that the decision to deduct from wages will be implemented immediately, noting that the Minister of Justice had begun opening a discussion with the Prime Minister and the Minister in charge of the budget regarding the demands of the Court Clerks Authority, but the professional unions decided to continue the strike.
For the first time, the Minister of Justice resorted to the procedure of deducting the wages of strikers, which was approved by the government headed by Abdelilah Benkirane, of the Justice and Development Party.
Last week, the unions representing court clerks went on nationwide strikes, and then resumed today, Tuesday, to continue them for three days, with an expected protest march in Rabat.
