An American man is guaranteed to be in the final of the 2024 United States Open. On Tuesday, two American men won their quarterfinal matchup, which guaranteed an all-American semifinal on Friday. The 12th seed Taylor Fritz of San Diego, California beat the fourth seed Alexander Zverev of Germany 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. Then, the 20th seed Frances Tiafoe of Hyattsville, Maryland defeated the ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov via a walkover after Tiafoe was leading 6-3 6-7, 6-3, 4-1.
