Only 34 years old

At only 34 years old, Mr. Tardif still has several years ahead of him to try his luck in politics at the higher levels, adds Alain Rayes.

“Antoine’s big advantage is that there is time because of his age. I can confirm that he has all the qualities necessary to be able to reach the highest political heights,” he assures.

“If his energy is still there, the taste and the passion.”

Elections

The independent MLA for Richmond-Arthabaska took four weeks off to recharge his batteries and unwind. He expressed a certain nostalgia for the camaraderie of the caucuses, but is now focusing on local issues.

The triggering of federal elections is possible, adds Alain Rayes. By-elections are planned for September in Manitoba and Quebec.

If the Liberal Party of Canada loses, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will have two options.

“My contacts tell me that things are not going very well for the federal Liberals. In the event of a defeat, I think Justin Trudeau will have two options: either he resigns and creates a by-election, a leadership election. We will reach the end of the mandate, so in the fall of 2025, in a year. Or Justin Trudeau says too bad I’m going for it, then I go for an election right away, in the fall,” anticipates Alain Rayes.
