A day that could be decisive for Bernard Cazeneuve. A return to the forefront of the political scene that comes three months after the sudden death of his wife, Véronique. The politician’s late wife died following an illness. As revealed by The Parisianin early 2024, Mona and Nathan’s mother was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

A terrible health problem that unfortunately took her away in a few months, since she took her last breath on June 2nd. Bernard Cazeneuve had then stopped his activities after the announcement of his wife’s illness and had notably participated in an awareness campaign. After a first marriage in 1995, and the birth of their two children, the politician and his late wife divorced before getting back together three years later. The former Prime Minister then married Véronique Beau for a second time on August 12th, 2015.

While Bernard Cazeneuve, still in mourning, is expected to succeed Gabriel Attal, his relationship with Emmanuel Macron is very complex. Following the arrival of Brigitte Macron’s husband at the Élysée, the politician had distanced himself from him, as reported by L’ExpressAugust 29. While the two men initially had a relationship based on humor and goodwill, it quickly deteriorated when Mona and Nathan’s father understood that he was dealing with a personality always seeking to be “to his advantage”. The former MP, for example, did not appreciate seeing him dissociate himself from the record of the government to which he had belonged, during the debate against Marine Le Pen in 2017, recalls The Point.
