First case of monkeypox confirmed in Morocco (ministry)

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection specifies that the case was detected within the framework of the health protocol adopted in the Kingdom since the beginning of theglobal health alert. The patient, who was taken care of in a specialized medical center in Marrakechis currently in a stable condition and shows no signs of seriousness.

The ministry also informs that the patient receives the medical care appropriate in accordance with the health protocols in force, and it is under medical supervision strict to ensure the stabilization of his condition. The measures ofhealth isolation have been activated according to national and international standards.

After receiving the results of the laboratory analyses confirming the case, the national and regional centers of public health emergencies have launched investigations to identify and monitor all persons who had contact with the patient, in accordance with epidemiological procedures adopted. To date, none of the people contacted have symptoms.

The ministry assures that it will continue to communicate with the national public opinion on the developments of the epidemiological situationHe calls on citizens to respect the recommended preventive measures, by washing their hands regularly and avoiding any direct contact with people who are infected or suspected of being infected.
